Jack M. Martins (born June 19, 1967[1][2]) is a Republican member of the New York State Senate, representing the 7th district[3] located in Nassau County, New York.

Martins is a first-generation American, born to parents who emigrated from northern Portugal in the 1960s. He has lived in Mineola since the age of 3 and graduated from Chaminade High School in 1985. Martins received a bachelor's degree in political science from American University in 1988. He earned his Juris Doctorate from St. John's University School of Law in 1991.[2]
Martins owned a law firm in Mineola for 15 years and has worked as an attorney for his family's construction company, J & A Concrete Corp. in Bohemia, New York.[2]
Martins was elected mayor of the Village of Mineola in 2003. He had an unsuccessful race for the U.S. Congress against Carolyn McCarthy in 2008.
In November 2010, Martins was elected to the State Senate, defeating the Democratic incumbent Craig M. Johnson.[4]
Martins is a member of the County Seat Kiwanis Club and the Long Island Portuguese Lions Club.[3] He and his wife Paula have four daughters: Kaitlin, Vanessa, Emma and Caroline.[4]
